MANAGEMENT AND STAFF RESOURCES

The practice remains entirely independent of all other planning and environmental consultancies, commercial businesses and sectoral interests.

David Tyldesley has been Principal of the Practice since its establishment in 1983. He is a Chartered Town Planner, a qualified Landscape Architect and a Member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. David works mainly with central and local government and the statutory environmental agencies in England, Scotland and Wales.

Anthony Brown has been an Associate since joining us from local government in 1989. He is a qualified planner and chartered landscape architect, he leads all the Practice’s work on landscape character and capacity assessment, landscape design and environmental management and co-ordination. One of his principal clients is the Highways Agency, for whom he undertakes the role of environmental co-ordination for major highway infrastructure projects in England.

Graham Bradford has been an Associate since September 2004, having joined the Practice as Senior Planner in July 2001, after an 11 year career with the Peak District National Park Authority. Graham manages call-off contracts with Natural England. He leads on all of the general planning consultancy and many of the Practice’s research and advisory commissions to local authorities and statutory bodies, and on many SEA / Sustainability Appraisals adn green infrastructure projects.

Our other Associate is Professor Martin Seabrook who is the Chair of Agriculture and Rural Development at the University of Nottingham, School of Agriculture, Sutton Bonnington. He has been an Associate since 1992 and works with us on an as-needed basis along with other colleagues from the University.

Roslyn Deeming has been a Senior Planner since joining the Practice in 2004. Roslyn has substantial previous experience in Local Government and statutory agencies. She works on sustainability appraisals and SEA, responses to LDF consultations for statutory bodies, on research and advisory commissions for a wide range of clients and on landscape character and similar assessments.

Dr Caroline Chapman has joined the Practice recently as a Senior Specialist, working primarily with David on the interpretation and application of the Habitats Directive and Habitats Regulations Assessment of plans and projects. Caroline previously worked in these fields for the Environment Agency and at a senior level for Natural England and has also developed expertise in air pollution effects on ecosystems.

Gill Nall is our Office Manager and provides multi-skilled support across the Practice including IT, health and safety, quality management, financial and administrative duties.

It will be evident from the nature of the Practice that we are multi-disciplinary and we value staff members who are qualified in more than one discipline or specialism.
